The world’s most expensive pie

I woke up the morning after the McDonalds/Ribs escapade, feeling absolutely ravenously hungry!! I got ready and found Lorna getting ready too. It was a beautiful day and Lorna offered to take me on a drive in the country and along the coast, a lovely offer as she knew I’d been stuck indoors for a long time with my sore back and couldn’t really get out and about. She’s such a kind and thoughtful friend. We had for breakfast two slices of toast each with butter, peanut butter and banana on them, and lovely hot tea. So, set up for the day, off we set in the car for…. Girvan, a little town on the coast with a great fish and chip shop LOL!!! First though we drove though some beautiful countryside near where lorna lives, and I admired a windfarm, I really don’t think they are blots on the landscape, I think they are actually very aesthetically pleasing and rather, add something to the scenery. I stopped and took a few snaps and lorna kindly photographed a pair of sheep for me… Within an hour of the toast, we were sitting in the car in the sunshine almost on the sandy beach, watching the sea and tucking into deliciously aromatic fish and chips, the batter on the fish golden and crisp, the fish white and tenderly flaky, and the chips mouthwatering with their salt n vinegar aroma. We would have sat out of the car but for the gigantic and hungry-looking seagulls which are so cheeky they would steal the food from our hands… and I’d hate for a child to see me throttle a dumb animal… After finishing our food and drinks we had a lovely drive down the coast, admiring the scenery. We stopped at a beach and Lorna walked the dog while I snoozed, then we drove back a slightly different route which just happened to take us to a lovely little Farm shop muahaha. Something tells me Lorna knew we would happen by this place as her eyes lit up with an evil twinkle as she said “There’s a lovely farm restaurant here, fancy tea and cakes?” Well…. suffice to say that if we were Bill and Ted, we would have done the Wyld Stallyns sign lol. I had the biggest slice of rhubarb pie I’ve ever seen and a pot of tea for one, while Lorna had a coffee and a huge fresh cream meringue. It’s just as well they tasted as good as they looked, since it came to £10 - $20!!! just for the cakes and drinks! After recovering from that shock we regained our composure by hitting the farm shop and buying up lots of nice goodies, yay! We then half staggered, half waddled back to the car for Lorna to take me home. I have no idea how I managed to fasten my seatbelt.. what I do know is that if I was with Lorna every day I’d be approximately twice the size I am just now!! I could feel every bump in the road on the journey home, and my lower belly wobbled and jiggled the whole way, trapped as it was under the lower part of the seatbelt. My side rolls being somewhat less constricted jiggled and vibrated so much that I felt the ripples running up and down my sides, mmm! By the time I got home I was tired, stuffed and very very happy! Hooray for foodie weekends, and hooray for lovely feedee friends!
